DALLAS - Another exemplary performance on the court earned senior forward
Prencis Harden her second-straight Conference USA Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday.
The Swainsboro, Ga. native tallied 48 points and 21 rebounds this week including a career-high 26 points with eight rebounds in Kennesaw State's 65-62 comeback win over Georgia State Thursday. KSU rallied from down 12 in the fourth to win its second-straight.
Harden opened the week last Monday (Dec. 16) at Seattle with a 22-point outing and 13 rebounds, her third-straight game with a double-double. She shot 63.6% from the floor across the two games.
No. 24 leads CUSA in double-doubles (5) and 10-rebound games (5) this season. She
earned the same honor last week following a 14-point, 13-rebound ledger on the road at Florida Atlantic where she surpassed 500 career rebounds.
Harden is the first player in program history to achieve multiple CUSA weekly awards. The senior is the first Owl since Aareon Smith in January 2016 to win back-to-back conference player of the week honors. She is the first since Gillian Piccolino in February 2020 to win weekly awards in back-to-back weeks.
This marks the third CUSA Player of the Week honor for KSU women's basketball, the most of any team this season. It is the Owls' 25th Division I conference player of the week award and 61st Division I conference weekly honor. It's the 11th weekly individual achievement for KSU under head coachÂ
Octavia Blue.
The Owls return to the KSU Convocation Center Monday, Dec. 30 at 7:00 p.m. for their final non-conference game of the season against in-state rival Mercer. It's 'Cram the Convo' Night and fans can enjoy this special
$1 ticket deal. KSU students receive free admission to all home KSU women's basketball games this season.
