KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's tennis announced the signing of three men's tennis student-athletes on Thursday.
"Very excited for these three guys to be joining the team in January," assistant head coach
Simon Pritchard said. "Coach Knox did an outstanding job recruiting this summer and it really shows in this recruiting class."
Among the signings are Erik Vladimirov, Xavi Ferrer and Leo Phijidivijan.
Vladimirov hails from Sofia, Bulgaria. He has ranked as high as No. 1 in Bulgarian U18 rankings. He has an ATP doubles ranking as high of 1759. He holds a singles UTR of 11.91 and a doubles UTR of 12.60.
"Erik is a physical player and has a big game," Pritchard added. "He has a lot of weapons that are going to be a nightmare for our opponents to deal with this Spring."
Ferer will arrive at Kennesaw State from Alicante, Spain. He is a top-130 player in the Spain men's rankings. He owns a singles UTR of 11.45 and a doubles UTR of 12.31.
"Xavi is an unbelievable athlete that refuses to quit," Pritchard stated. "College tennis is the perfect environment for Xavi to thrive in and I can't wait to watch him compete."
Phijidivijan is a native of Sydney, Australia. He competed in Australian Open Juniors Qualifying and was a member of the University of Sydney men's tennis team. He holds a singles UTR of 11.15.
"Leo is exactly what you expect from an Aussie," Pritchard said. "He is a fierce competitor that will find ways to win. I am excited to watch him develop throughout the season."
The Owls open the dual-match portion of the 2024-25 season on Jan. 17 at Presbyterian.
