DALLAS - Announced by the conference office Friday afternoon, KSU goalkeeper
Charlee Bernal carved a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic Team after sporting a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of her degree in business management.
It's the first CUSA All-Academic Award in Kennesaw State Athletics History as well as Bernal's first post season award.
The redshirt-sophomore has recorded three clean sheets while allowing just 1.73 goals per game. She leads Conference USA in saves per game with 5.00 alongside a save percentage of 75.9, showcasing third in the league. Her tally of 60 total saves sits fourth in the league in just 12 games played.
Bernal set a career high in saves twice this year with 10 saves versus Mercer and 11 saves in the win versus Sam Houston. Her 11 save performance marked fifth all-time in single game program history. The keeper has posted seven saves over 90 minutes in the match, the third-most in any single game this season for Bernal.
She won program's first ever CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week award after shutting out FIU in the 3-0 win. The Panthers boasted a top 20 scoring offense in the NCAA coming into the match.
