Pink Day Set for Saturday Against Sugar Bears

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State (8-11, 4-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) hosts the Wellstar Pink Day Game to conclude its January slate Saturday against Central Arkansas (13-6, 5-1 ASUN) inside the KSU Convocation Center.

The Owls enter their 20th game of the 2023-24 season having won five-straight ASUN home contests. KSU is 7-1 in its last eight conference home games and can achieve back-to-back 5-2 ASUN starts for the first time in program history with a win over the Sugar Bears.

Junior forward Prencis Harden leads KSU averaging 14.7 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game in home contests this season. She has reached double-digit points in each of the last six home games.

This is Kennesaw State's final season in the ASUN Conference before moving to Conference USA on July 1.

  • KSU's last home game on Jan. 13 capped off the first 3-0 ASUN start in its program history, defeating Jacksonville 59-57.
  • The Owls are 6-3 inside the KSU Convocation Center this season.
    • Under head coach Octavia Blue, KSU is 22-15 at home and 12-8 vs. the ASUN at home.
  • Kennesaw State is 27-12 in the Blue Era when scoring 60 points or more.
  • Harden has 13 double-digit scoring games in 2023-24, including 11 in the last 12 games.
  • On Wednesday at North Alabama, freshman Trynce Taylor made her first-career start.
    • She has won two ASUN Freshman of the Week honors this season.
  • The Black and Gold have won six-straight Saturday home games.
  • Central Arkansas defeated Queens Wednesday, 76-57.

In Our Blue Era

Coach Blue Extension 2027
  • On Dec. 7, Blue signed a contract extension through the 2026-27 season with KSU.
  • She is the fastest coach in Kennesaw State women's basketball's DI history to 27 wins, shattering the previous mark by 12 games.
  • Since Blue took over in 2021-22, the Owls have the third-most home conference wins of any DI women's basketball program in the state of Georgia (12), trailing only Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern (13).
  • Coach Blue reached 20 home wins on Jan. 6 vs. Queens, taking only 35 games to achieve the feat and passing the previous KSU women's basketball's DI record by four games.
  • The Black and Gold protected the Nest in 2022-23, accruing a 9-4 record inside the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Last season, KSU WBB doubled its conference win total from five to 10, finishing with a 10-8 record in ASUN play.
  • In her first two seasons at the helm, Coach Blue has secured 24 wins, the second-most by a KSU coach in DI program history in their first two seasons.
  • Of the 14 Owls on the roster, seven are new to the Nest as freshmen or transfers, but for the first time as head coach, Blue's roster is 100% comprised of players brought in by one of her staffs.
  • The 2023-24 season marks the final year of competition for Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
