ATLANTA, Ga. – Kennesaw State track and field assistant coaches
Mike Judge and
Daniel Haugh were inducted into to the Georgia Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Haugh was inducted as an athlete and Judge as a coach.
Haugh was one of the nation's top prep throwers during his high school career at St. Pius X High School. He was coached by
Mike Judge of the Throw 1 Deep Track Club. As a junior in 2013, he earned Prep All-America honors in the hammer, discus and weight throw. He was the 2013 Georgia state champion in the hammer, discus and weight throw. Haugh broke the national junior outdoor record in the 25 lb. weight throw with a toss of 82-8 ¼ (25.20 meters) and set a Georgia state record in the hammer with a throw of 235-11 (71.91 meters). He helped lead St. Pius X to the 2013 team title at the Georgia Class 3A Outdoor Championships and earned a spot on the 2013 USA Track & Field Junior National Team.
Judge is the founder and director of the nationally acclaimed Throw1Deep track and field club . He served as the throws coach produced two athletes (Kenneth Brinson, hammer in 2014, and Shelby Ashe, hammer in 2010) who competed in the newly established Youth Olympic Games. Shelby Ashe still holds the high school national record in the 20lb weight and hammer throw. She also holds the American Junior record in the hammer throw of 223-6. He has also had multiple athletes eclipse the 70-foot barrier in the boy's high school shot put, the 50-foot barrier in the girl's shot put and the 80-foot barrier in the boys 25lb weight. He has led 20 student-athletes to high school individual championships and has had 200 student-athletes earn high school All-American honors. He was named the 2013 New Balance National High School Coach of the year. He is a two-time Georgia Club Coach of the Year and was the Georgia High School Coach of the year in 2012.
