WOLCOTT, Colo. – The Owls climbed their way into third place to finalize the GolfWeek Red Sky Invitational Wednesday in Wolcott, Colo.
It's a repeat success for the Owls as they placed second in the Golfweek Red Sky Classic last season resulting in back-to-back top three finishes. They ended the tournament +24 with a 888 total.
Kil saved her best for last shooting a season best 69 on the day to finish 2-under for the entire invitational tying for third among the 89-player field.
LEADING THE TEAM:
It was a tremendous final day on the links for Bella Kil and Lara Jecnik. They helped lift the Owls with under par scores with Jecnik leading the way 4-under 68 to finish tied for ninth to go with a 1-over 217 tournament score.
Kil and Jecnik skied up the rankings on the final day with Jecnik rising 11 spots and Kil nine.
SCORECARD:
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman chipped in with a 3-over 76 in round three. Overall she scored a 11-over 227.
Alessandra Nagayo ended the tournament with a 4-over 232 score showcasing her best day of the tournament ending with a 76.
Freshman
Sabrina Kim had by far her best day on the circuit as she finished the day with a 2-over 74.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> All four of Kennesaw State's scores ended up in the top 52
>> KSU feasted on Par 4s jumping up to fourth among the field in stroke average of 4.21
>> They also finished fourth in Pars on the tournament with 161
NEXT TEE TIME:
It's a trip to Oklahoma for the Owls as they will compete in the Dale McNamara Invitational Oct. 9 through Oct. 10.
