CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Over the weekend six of the Kennesaw State women's tennis team participated in the Western Carolina Hidden Dual tournament in Catamount Athletics Complex to begin the 2023 fall schedule. Kennesaw State was joined by Western Carolina and Gardner-Webb as each team participated in singles and doubles match play.
 
The Owls began play on Sunday to face Western Carolina in singles and doubles, along with competing against Garder-Webb in doubles. Match play resumed Sunday with Kennesaw State taking on WCU and GWU in singles.
 
Kennesaw State obtained seven singles victories, three of which were secured by freshmen Laura Nadaska def. Madison Schwarz (WCU) 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6), Terezia Baraniakova def. Andrea Redondo (WCU) 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) and Ema Baraniakova who secured a 4-6,6-4,1-0 (10-5) win. The remaining four singles wins were gained by returners Amulika Gottiparthy and Izabelle Persson. Gottiparthy defeated Andrea Redondo (WCU) 6-4, 6-1 and Katie Watts (GWU) 6-1, 6-1. While Persson dominated Madison Schwarz (WCU) 7-6 (7-1) and Valeria Lloclla (GWU) 6-1, 6-2.
 
Ema Baraniakova and Ivana Gresova shined in doubles play securing a 6-4 win over WCU, while Terezia Baraniakova and Izabelle Persson were also victorious with a 6-2 score against WCU. Momentum continued against GWU as Ivana Gresova and Izabelle Persson def. Emilia Roslund/Valeria Lloclla 6-4, and Ema Baraniakova/Laura Nadaska def. Katie Watts/Schasteen 6-2.
