JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Six members of the Kennesaw State men's tennis team kicked off the fall portion of the 2023-24 season at the Jacksonville State Invitational on Friday.

The Owls posted a perfect 3-0 record in doubles round one action.

Hugo Salmeron and freshman Joel Gibson defeated Alin Fatu and Marko Milosavljevic of JSU 6-4. Brian Capalnean and Agustin Miramontes KSU slipped past Zach Murphy and Lucius Soller of JSU 7-6 (5). Anthony Weingarten and Sam Baldwin KSU downed Liam Day and Charlie Penman of JSU 6-3.

In round two of doubles, Hugo Salmeron and Joel Gibson KSU def Federico Scotuzzi and Nazar Fedoryshyn of UNA 7-5 and Brian Capalnean and Agustin Miramontes KSU def Lachlan Brain/Birtan Duran UNA 7-6 (4).
 
In round one of  singles action, KSU got wins from Salmeron (6-4, 7-5), Capalneal (7-5, 7-6 (4), Miramontes (6-4,6-1), Weingarten (7-6 (5), 6-3) and Baldwin (6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3).
 
The Owls will continue action at the Jacksonville State Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16.
