Bowling Green, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team took home the team title at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational on Wednesday.
The tournament was played at the par 73 Streamsong Black Course.
KSU posted a 1-under par round of 291 on Wednesday for a 54-hole total of 31-under par 845. The 31-under total ties a new 54-hole program scoring record.
"I'm incredibly proud of this team," head coach
Bryant Odom said. "Everyone contributed this week and all of them finished within the top 25. Shaun and Hunter worked hard over the summer to develop while Hugo and Claes returned in form. Kyle is an amazing addition to the team and has proven once again he's an elite player. We are just getting started."
Shaun Cook was the Owls' top finisher in the event. He carded a 3-over par 76 to finish tied for third at 10-under par 209 for the tournament. His 10-under total tied for seventh in program history. The sophomore made 15 birdies and 35 pars in the 54-hole event.
Kyle Bachkosky tied for eighth at 8-under par 211. He made three birdies over his final nine holes to post a 1-over 74 on Wednesday.
Claes Borregaard posted his third-consecutive round of 2-under par 71 and tied for 12th at 6-under par 213. He has now recorded an under-par round in eight of his last nine rounds dating back to last season.
Hugo Lari and
Hunter Gillard each posted 3-under par rounds of 70 and were tied for 19
th with a 36-hole score of 143.
The Owls will head to Sapphire, N.C. for the J.T. Poston Invitational on September 25-26 at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.
