BUDAPEST, Hungary. – Assistant coach and former Owl
Daniel Haugh finished his run in the hammer throw at the World Athletics Championships Saturday at National Athletics Centre.
Haugh finished sixth in the event with a season-best toss of 78.64m (258'0").
Haugh earned his spot in the final on Friday, finishing sixth in Group A with a 76.64m (251'5") mark. The finish was seventh among participants. The qualification field featured 35 athletes.
"Daniel is a fierce competitor," assistant coach Mike Judge said. "You can count on him for a personal-best or a season-best performance at these major championships."
Haugh will again represent Team USA in the Pan Am Games which will take place October 22, 29 – November 4 in Santiago, Chile.
