KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's golf has added Brooks Thomas to the staff, head coach Erin Thorne announced Friday.   "I'm pleased to have Brooks join our team," Thorne said. "His experiences as a player, coach and caddy will continue to help our program take steps towards the goals I know we can achieve."   Thomas comes directly from his heading coaching duties at Cleveland State Community College. In the spring, he led the Cougars to a 12th place finish in the NJCAA D-II National Championship.   "I'm honored to be a part of the Kennesaw State women's golf program and excited for the opportunity at this level to coach and learn," Thomas said.   He not only comes with coaching experience, but also with top tier accolades as a professional golfer. After turning pro in the fall of 2017, he has scored three wins on the Open Golf Atlanta Tour. He has competed in numerous events in his pro career including the All-Pro Tour, Gpro Tour, West Florida Tour and US Open Qualifiers. Thomas finished eighth on the 2020 money list for the SwingThought Tour and qualified to be a competitor on the Korn Ferry Tour.   Before showcasing his abilities in the pro circuit, Thomas competed for four years at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He landed on the All-Southern Conference team in the '16-'17 season. He maintained a 74.99 career scoring average while at UT Chattanooga before graduation with a Bachelor of Psychology in 2017. Following graduation, he served as an assistant coach for the Mocs men's golf team until the spring of 2018.
