KENNESAW, Ga. – The rise of Kennesaw State Athletics has been noticed nationwide, and how its brand is portrayed has been recognized as well.
Â
The KSU Owl Network and Athletic Communications staff were honored 11 times from the CSC (Collegiate Sports Communicators) 2023 Creative and Digital Design Contest. That tied the Owls with BYU and was just behind Kansas State (13) and Oklahoma (14) for the most of any school.
Â
Notably, KSU won first place and took home third in the Special Event Programs category. The Owls were honored for the men's basketball ASUN Championship Program and NCAA Tournament Program. KSU also finished third in the Video Recap and Postseason Media Guide categories.
Â
The Owls were awarded for their gameday graphics, statistical milestone graphics, motion graphics, hype videos, recap videos, posters, media guides, and programs. Director of Creative and Digital Media Liam Kissinger's work was recognized a contest-high nine times.
Â
Adding to their honors, the KSU Owl Network was a two-time finalist in the SVG (Sports video Group) College Sports Media Awards. This marked the first time that KSU was a finalist in multiple categories.
Â
"I am extremely proud of how our team worked together to capitalize on KSU's success," said Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Broadcasting Nolan Alexander. "These awards result from their vision, organization, innovation, and cohesion. Our full-time staffers and interns committed to steadily improving themselves and our brand. We are underway with our progression for a highly anticipated year ahead.
Â
"Thank you to CSC and its members involved in organizing and judging a vast contest. Their efforts are appreciated and do not go unnoticed."
Â
