JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Four members of the Kennesaw State men's track and field team participated on the third day of the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Friday at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Tickets Punched
Anthony Harrison landed a toss of 56.30m (184'8") to finish 10
th in the men's discus to become the first Owl to qualify for the discus finals at the NCAA Championships.
Kelvin Campbell landed a leap of 16.06m (52'8.25") to finish fifth in the triple jump on his final attempt. That mark ranks second in program history. Campbell is the first Owl to qualify for the triple jump final since Andre Dorsey in 2013.
Harrison and Campbell will both compete on Friday, June 9 in Austin, Texas.
Notable Performances
Sultan Simms and
Juan Cavazos II both ended their junior seasons tying for 16th in the high jump with a clearance of 2.04m (6'8.25").
Sarah Hendrick (800m) and Tayla Moreland (triple jump) will compete on Saturday, May 27.
