JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Five members of the Kennesaw State women's track and field team competed on the second day of the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Thursday at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Ticket Punched
Kali Terza landed a toss of 64.11m (210'4") to finish eighth in the hammer throw. She became the first Owl to qualify for the finals of the women's hammer throw at the NCAA Track and Field Championships in school history. She will compete on Thursday, May 25 in Austin, Texas.
Running Event Qualifiers for Saturday's Quarterfinals
Sarah Hendrick ran a time of 2:05.21 in the 800m to finish eighth overall and advance to Saturday's quarterfinals.
Notable Performances
Kaylee Clark finished her freshman season placing 16th in the javelin throw with a mark of 47.10m (154'6).
Caroline Timm ran a time of 4:22.40 to finish 20th in the 1500m.
Corbin McLean closed her KSU career finishing 29th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.44 seconds.
Five men will compete for KSU on day three of the NCAA East Preliminary Championships on Friday, May 26. Hendrick and
Tayla Moreland (triple jump) will compete on Saturday, May 27.
