KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball had two players named to the ASUN All-Conference teams, the conference announced Monday.
Jamarie Brooks was selected to the All-Freshman squad and
Spencer Hanson was tabbed a Third Team All-ASUN honoree. This marks the first postseason accolade for each player.
Brooks had an electric ending to the 2023 campaign as the Riverdale, Ga. native finished 8-for-15 in the final weekend against Florida Gulf Coast. The outfielder went a perfect 5-for-5 in game two against the Eagles while driving in six runs. This performance set a new career high for Brooks in both categories.
On the season, the freshman played in 33 games with 30 starts. Brooks slashed nine extra-base hits, including three home runs, one triple and five doubles. He finished his first year of collegiate baseball with 17 runs scored and 25 RBI.
Like Brooks, Hanson also finished the year on a tear. The KSU designated hitter blasted 10 home runs in the final 18 games of the season. The Leesburg, Ga native also collected a team-high 33 RBI over that span.
Hanson totaled 42 games with 38 starts. In 149 at-bats, he produced a team-leading .369 batting average with a .725 slugging percentage and a .401 on-base percentage. Hanson's 15 home runs and 55 RBI also ranked first on the Owls. He was named the ASUN Player of the Week twice this season.
Since joining the ASUN in 2007, Kennesaw State baseball has placed 82 players on the ASUN Postseason All-Conference teams.
