KENNESAW, Ga. – After a series sweep of Jacksonville, Kennesaw State baseball's
Spencer Hanson was selected as the ASUN Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday. The award marks the first ASUN weekly accolade for the Owls' designated hitter and is the second for KSU on the season.
In four games last week, Hanson went 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate with four home runs, one double and 13 RBI. On Saturday against Jacksonville, the Leesburg, Ga. native recorded six RBI which was only one shy of tying the Kennesaw State program record. This marked the second time this season Hanson reached the six RBI total in a single game.
During his last seven games, Hanson has homered six times. He has also collected six multi-hit performances over that span with 19 RBI.
On the season, Hanson holds a .374 batting average and leads the team in home runs with 11. He also ranks second in RBI (41) and third in hits (40).
Kennesaw State baseball is back in action Tuesday as the team travels to the University of Georgia for its midweek matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. inside Foley Field and will be broadcasted live on SEC Network +.
