Owls Set School Record and Win One Event at East Coast Relays

Jacksonville, Fla.
 – The Kennesaw State track and field teams finished  regular season competition at the East Coast Relays at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on Saturday.
 
School Record
 
  • Quann Shears had a personal-best toss of 62.86m (206'2) to grab third in the javelin.
 
Event Winners
  • Kaylee Clark won the women's javelin with a toss of 45.42m (149'00).
 
Men's Top Performances
  • Malik Hussie ran a season-best time of 46.97 seconds to take sixth in the 400m.
 
Women's Top Performances
  • Sarah Hendrick (2:03.86) and Caroline Timm (2:04.88) third third and fifth in the 800m.
  • Corbin McLean ran a personal-best time of 13.21 seconds to finish seventh in the 100m hurdles.
  • The women's 4x400m team of Britney Chatfield, Kyndall Hudson, Raquel Grier and  Sarah Hendrick clocked a season-best time of 3:43.25 to take fourth.
  • Tayla Moreland landed a personal-best mark of 12.62m (41'05") to finish fifth in the triple jump.
  • Mollie Spreights cleared 1.71m (5'7.25") to tie for third in the high jump.

"I want to give a big shoutout to Kelvin Campbell, Corbin McLean, Quann Shears, Malik Hussie, Zachary Peterson, Tayla Moreland for their strong performances this weekend. I also want to congratulate Courtney Lawrence, Kaylee Cark, Kali Terza and AJ Johnson on winning their events. I believe we are coming together and performing at a high level at the right time of year. We are looking forward to a weekend off to focus on the ASUN Championships in two weeks."
 
 
NEXT UP
The Owls will head back to Jacksonville, Fla. for the ASUN Outdoor Championships on May 11-13.
