MOBILE, Ala. –
The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished tied for fourth at the ASUN Championship which concluded on Tuesday at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.

The Owls recorded a 13-under par round of 275 to finish at 31-under par 833. That 54-hole total score of 833 established a new school record on a par-72 course. The 13-under par round of 275 is tied for fourth lowest in program history on a par-72 course.

"I'm incredibly proud of the team and how they took great pride in preparing for the ASUN Championship this past week," head coach Bryant Odom said. "Our goals upon seeing the golf course this week were hitting as many greens as possible and staying aggressive with the putters. It is so fulfilling to see the results all come together with program records in scoring. It has been a very enjoyable squad this year and we can use this tourney as a stepping stone for next fall."

Claes Borregaard carded an 8-under par round of 64 with eight birdies and 10 pars in the final round. His 64 tied the school record on a par-72 course. Borregarrd finished tied for fifth with a 14-under par total score of 202 earning ASUN All-Tournament Team honors. His 54-hole total of 202 ranks tied for second in program history on a par-72 course. He played his final 44 holes of the event bogey free. The sophomore finished with 36 pars and 16 birdies in the 54-hole event.

"Claes has shown this potential all year and this is exactly why we invited him to be on the team last summer," Odom said. "I can't wait for his next few years as an Owl."

Evan Thompson posted a 4-under par 68 with eight birdies and six pars in his final collegiate round. Thompson's 68 was his lowest round of the season. Shaun Cook played his final nine holes at 2-under par to record a 1-under par round of 71 on Wednesday. Thompson and Cook finished tied for 21st at 6-under par 210 for the tournament.

"Evan has been such an incredible player for our team on and off the course. He is truly a great young man and finished his college career off in style," Odom said.

Hugo Lari shot an even-par round of 72 with 14 pars and two birdies. The junior tied for 37th at 3-under par 213.

Yuya Eguchi carded a 1-over 73 and finished tied for 40th at 1-under par 215.
