HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Kennesaw State women's golf stands tied for fourth after round one at the 2023 ASUN Championship at the Hampton Cove Golf Course.
KSU finished the day at 20-over 308, 10 strokes out of first place and tied with 2022 ASUN Champion North Florida.
Kennesaw State was the only team to have all five players finish inside of the top 38 on Sunday.
LEADING THE TEAM:
Senior Bella Kil leads the Owls after a 2-over 74 round one. She stands tied for sixth.
Her par-3 scoring average tied for second in the field at 3.00. She led the team with a 4.10 par-4 scoring average that tied for seventh in the field.
Kil's 12 pars also led the Owls Sunday.
SCORECARD:
Meva Schmit was next on the scorecard for KSU tied for 21st in the field. Her round one score stood at 5-over 77.
Nyah Kelly finished tied for 24th at 6-over 78.
Schmit and Kelly led the team with a 5.00 par-5 scoring average.
Cameron Neilson and Lara Jecnik will enter round two tied for 32nd after shooting 7-over 79 apiece Sunday.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> KSU was tied for third in the field in par-4 (4.26) and par-5 (5.15) scoring averages.
>> The Owls' 53 pars were the fourth-most in round one.
NEXT TEE TIME:
KSU continues its run in the ASUN Championship with round two action Monday, Apr. 17.
