ATLANTA, Ga. – For the fourth time in the last five seasons, four Kennesaw State Owls were named to the ASUN Women's Golf All-Conference teams, the league office announced Friday.
KSU led the conference with the most selections to the ASUN All-Conference teams.
Bella Kil and Lara Jecnik earned first team honors after finishing the regular season first and second on the team in scoring average, respectively.
Kil posted four top-10 finishes and 10 rounds of even-par or better. She earned ASUN Golfer of the Week honors on Oct. 20.
Jecnik had five top-10 placements in the 2022-23 season and tied the KSU single-round low score of 66 at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
This marks Kil's second all-conference honor and the first for Jecnik.
Senior Meva Schmit was named to the second team after a strong finish to the regular season. She had eight rounds of even-par or better including top-14 finishes in each of the final three events. Schmit finished inside the top-26 in seven of her eight tournaments.
She was named ASUN Golfer of the Week on Apr. 6 after a tied-for-second finish at the Pinetree Women's Collegiate presented by Henssler.
On the third team was junior Cameron Neilson. She posted a 74.70 scoring average during the regular season and played in every tournament for the Owls this season. She had six rounds at even-par or better and had six top-23 placements.
The honor is the first for Schmit and Neilson in their KSU careers.
This marks the fifth season Kennesaw State has posted four or more players on ASUN All-Conference teams and tied the second-most by KSU in a single season. KSU had five earn all-conference honors in 2017-18.
