WICHITA, Kan. – The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced Kennesaw State catcher,
Nick Hassan, was named to the official watch list for the 2023 Buster Posey Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award. The honor recognizes the top catcher in Division I baseball and is awarded at the conclusion of the College World Series in June.
Hassan is looking to become the first Kennesaw State catcher to win the award since Max Pentecost in 2014. The KSU backstop has made nine starts this season, batting .316 with one home run, three doubles and 11 RBI. In the series opener with LIU (Feb. 24), Hassan tied his career high with four hits and was one shy of his career high with four RBI.
KSU baseball is back in action Friday, Mar. 10 as the team hosts the University of Michigan in the inaugural Mike Sansing Classic. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m. inside Stillwell Stadium. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking
