Owls Welcome UNF and Stetson for Pair of ASUN Matches

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State women's tennis continues ASUN Conference play this week starting with North Florida on Thursday afternoon. The Owls remain at home through the weekend and host Stetson on Sunday morning.

Scouting the Ospreys
North Florida is off to a 9-6 start to their season. The Ospreys are currently 1-1 in ASUN conference play after securing a 5-2 win over Austin Peay. UNF returns five players from the 2021-22 season.
 
Scouting the Hatters
Stetson went 22-3 overall and 8-1 in ASUN play last season. The last time out, the Hatters defeated Central Arkansas 6-1 on Sunday, Mar. 19th. to mark their second ASUN victory.
 
The Series
Thursday's match between Kennesaw State and North Florida will be the 16th meeting between the two programs. During the 2022 season, KSU fell short to UNF, 0-4.
 
Stetson is a familiar foe for Kennesaw State as Sunday's match will be the 18th meeting between the two programs. The Owls are coming off a 2-5 loss against the Hatters last season but were victorious over Stetson in 2021 by a score of 4-3.
 
Last Time Out
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team dominated Queens University 4-0, giving them their first ASUN conference win.
 
The Owls clinched the doubles point to gain their first score of the match. Izabelle Persson/Sophia Unger defeated Jill Morse/ Amelie Allard 6-4, while Ji Youn Lee/Sofia Pinedo dominated Nyanquie Tomegah/ Kelsey Sinclaire, 6-0.
 
Kennesaw State secured three singles matches to clinch the victory over the Royals.
Sofia Pinedo commanded Nyanquie Tomegah 6-0, 6-2, and Sophia Unger followed by defeating Amelie Allard 6-0, 6-2. Izabelle Persson handled business on court five giving the Owls another point by a 6-2, 6-1 win over Kelsey Sinclaire.

The Owls head to Florence, Ala. to face off against North Alabama on Friday, Mar. 31st at 1:00 p.m.
