CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Kennesaw State men's tennis team took down Queens 5-0 at the Howard Levine Tennis Center Sunday evening.
The Owls (8-5, 1-1 ASUN) secured the doubles point and won four lines of singles on their way to victory.
On the doubles side, the team of
Seru Tezuka and
Anthony Weingarten won their doubles point 6-1. On court one,
Raul Garcia and
Harvey Conway secured the doubles point for the Owls 7-6(5).
Kennesaw's success would continue in singles play.
Kevin Patel extended the Owls lead with his 6-0, 6-2 victory over Arthur Bazil.
Hugo Salmeron and
Anthony Weingarten earned the final two points for the Owls. Salmeron overcame Samuele Pia 6-2, 6-1 and Weingarten defeated Lukas Gosselin 7-5, 6-1.
Raul Garcia won his match 6-3, 6-2 on court one after an impressive battle against Edoardo Cecere.
Harvey Conway was up 6-5 in the second set when the match was called.
Kenneth Limyadi won the one extra match that was played 6-3, 6-0.
The Owls will battle against North Florida on Thursday, March 23 on the Betty Siegel Courts at 6 p.m.
