ATLANTA, Ga. – An incredible week at the plate earned Kennesaw State third baseman Taylor Cates ASUN Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday.
The Canton, Ga. native went 9-for-20 at the plate this week with three runs, 11 RBI and 18 total bases.
Against RV UCF and Toledo she posted back-to-back games with multiple hits, 3 RBI and two doubles in each game.
Her batting average stood at .450 during KSU's six games with a .900 slugging percentage and a .476 on-base percentage. She tallied six extra-base hits including four doubles, one triple and one homer.
This marks the third ASUN Player of the Week honor for Cates in her KSU career, tying Courtney Sutter for the most in KSU history. The award is her first since Feb. 28, 2022.
Kennesaw State opens conference play Friday, Mar. 17 for game one of a three-game series at Austin Peay. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
