KENNESAW, Ga. – After a dominant performance on the mound against the University of Michigan, Kennesaw State baseball's
Blake Wehunt was selected as the ASUN Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced Monday. The award marks the first ASUN weekly accolade for the 6'7 right hander and is the first for KSU on the season.
Last Friday night, Wehunt made his fourth start and set a new career high in innings pitched (6.1) and strikeouts (9). The Carnesville, Ga. native allowed only one earned run and one extra-base hit against the Wolverines en route to his second win of the year.
On the season, Wehunt leads the Owls in ERA (2.66), innings pitched (20.1) and strikeouts (27). He is currently tied for the team lead in wins with two.
Kennesaw State baseball is back in action tomorrow, Mar. 14 as the team travels to Georgia Southern for a midweek matchup. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. at J.I. Clements Stadium in Statesboro, Ga.
