BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team had a strong showing at the first two rounds of the FAU Paradise Invitational Monday.
The Owls finished the day tied for seventh in the 14-team field at 5-over 581, ahead of Golfstat's No. 64 (Wisconsin) and No. 69 (Georgia Southern) teams.
KSU had the fifth-lowest score of the second round at 1-under 287.
  
LEADING THE TEAM: 
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman led the Owls in day one at 3-under 141 and tied for 12^th in the event. Her 5-under 67 tied her career-low (2022 Rio Verde Invitational).
The junior's nine birdies are tied for fifth.
  
SCORECARD:  
Senior Meva Schmit was next on the scorecard at 2-over 146 through the first 36 holes.
Schmit and Campbell-Nyman both notched under-par second rounds.
Nyah Kelly and Bella Kil tied for 44th after Monday's action at 5-over 149.
Kil was the only Owl to record an under-par round in the first 18 holes.
Junior Cameron Neilson follows behind them at 6-over 150 in the first two rounds.
Neilson finished the day tied for fourth in pars with 28.
 
GOLF CART NOTES:  
>> KSU's 3.08 par-3 scoring average is tied for third in the event.   
>> The Owls are tied for fifth in par-5 scoring average after the first 36 holes (5.00 average).  
>> The team's 119 pars are sixth-most among the participants.
  
  
NEXT TEE TIME:  
Kennesaw State concludes its run at the FAU Paradise Invitational on Tuesday, Feb. 7 with round three action. The Owls are set for a 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
