KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team secured a 4-3 victory over UAB on Sunday afternoon at the Betty Siegel Courts. With the win, the Owls earn their second victory of the season and improve to 2-0.
"I couldn't be more proud of the women today," said KSU Director of Tennis Matt Emery. "We let the doubles point slip away, but UAB also stepped up and played really well at the end, so credit to them."
KSU got off to a slow start losing the doubles point.

Sofia Pinedo earned a 7-5 win on court three, while

Sophia Unger fought but both took tough losses.
The Owls quickly recovered the momentum and secured four singles matches to claim a 4-3 victory. Lee commanded court one with a 6-1, 6-2 win. Dean followed and set the tone on court two with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-5 win.
The last two singles points came down to Unger and Pinedo who were able to garner the victory. Unger claimed a 5-7, 6-3, 6-1 win, and Pinedo clinched a 3-6, 7-6, 7-6 win.
The victory gives KSU its second win in the all-time series against the Blazers.
"What I loved most about today's match was the confidence and belief we showed at the end," said Emery. "That belief is earned by putting in the hard work in practice, and it paid off today."
