RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Kennesaw State women's golf team moved up one spot to second at the 2023 Rio Verde Invitational after Saturday's action.
KSU notched a 5-over 293 card on the middle 18, the second-lowest team score of the day.
The Owls sit nine strokes behind tournament leader Xavier entering round three.
LEADING THE TEAM:
Lara Jecnik recorded KSU's first under-par round of the event at 3-under 69 in round two.
She is tied for third in the field at 1-over par 145 and one stroke out of first place.
SCORECARD:
Bella Kil and Cameron Neilson stand tied for 13th after round two with an overall score of 5-over 149.
Meva Schmit and Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman follow right behind the duo at 6-over 150. They both have posted back-to-back rounds of 3-over 75 in the event.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> The Owls are the only squad in the 18-team field to have all five players post rounds of 76 or lower in each of the first two rounds.
NEXT TEE TIME:
The Owls finish the 2023 Rio Verde Invitational Sunday, Feb. 26 with a shotgun start set for 10:30 a.m. ET.
