Race Preview
Seven members of the Kennesaw State women's cross country team travel to Gainesville, Fla. for the NCAA South Regionals on Friday, November 10.
 
The KSU men and women both competed on Saturday, October 29 at the ASUN Championships where the women finished second.
 
The women's best finish at the NCAA South Regionals was 13th in 2022.
 
The women's 6k race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. ET.
 
To be eligible to participate in the 2023 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross-Country Championships, teams and individuals must qualify from their respective regions. The top two teams at each regional championship automatically qualify for the championships meet.
 
From each NCAA regional meet, the first four student-athletes not on a qualifying team to finish will be automatic qualifiers to the NCAA championships. All individual automatic qualifiers must finish in the top 25 within their region.
 
KSU Team Notes
- Emma Sullivan (20:39.4) has KSU's best time in the 6k this season.
 
- Sullivan was the Owls top finisher at the ASUN Championships. She earned ASUN Second Team All-Conference honors. Zoe Smith, Ciara Miles and Faith Bobak and Third Team All-Conference honors. Madison Seiler collected All-Freshman honors.
 
Ciara Miles was named to the ASUN Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team.
 
- The women's team was ranked No.11 in the 2023 NCAA DI Women's Cross Country South Regional Rankings which were released by the USTFCCCA on Monday, Oct. 30.
 
Next Up
The Owls return to action on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the NCAA Championships in Charlottesville, Va. if any of the seven qualify. If not, they will be back in action on Friday (Jan. 13) when the indoor track and field season gets underway at the. Clemson Invitational.
