Kennesaw State Hosts Chattanooga Wednesday Night

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State (2-3) looks to win its seventh home game in the last eight tries as it hosts the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (6-1) Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 7:00 p.m. inside the KSU Convocation Center.

The midweek showdown marks the Owls' eighth-consecutive game against a team with a .500 or better record dating back to last season.

Wednesday is the sixth all-time meeting between the squads, with the last meeting on Nov. 21, 2022 in a 72-59 win for UTC. This is the first game in Kennesaw in the series since Nov. 23, 2021 where the Owls secured a 75-68 victory.

  • Senior Carly Hooks dominated on the court, recording a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds - both career-highs for the Atlanta native.
  • Hooks had 10 points in the first quarter as the Owls led 18-2 after the first period.
  • FAU's two first-quarter points set a KSU program record for fewest points allowed in a single non-overtime quarter.
    • It also marked an FAU program record for the fewest points scored in a single non-overtime quarter.
  • KSU has held its last three opponents to season-low point totals (Georgia State - 62, Georgia Tech - 77 and FAU - 43, respectively)

Saw Storylines

  • The Black and Gold protected the Nest in 2022-23, accruing a 9-4 record inside the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Last season, KSU WBB doubled its conference win total from five to 10, finishing with a 10-8 record in ASUN play.
  • In her first two seasons at the helm, Coach Blue has secured 24 wins, the second-most by a KSU coach in DI program history in their first two seasons.
  • Of the 14 Owls on the roster, seven are new to the Nest as freshmen or transfers, but for the first time as head coach, Blue's roster is 100% comprised of players brought in by one of her staffs.

  • 2022-23 was a season of success for the Owls, with Coach Blue leading KSU to its most conference wins (10) since 2008-09 and most single-season victories (15) since 2014-15.

  • The 2023-24 season marks the final year of competition for Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
