KSU Aims For Consecutive Wins Against Georgia State

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State (1-1) travels to Atlanta for a Tuesday evening tilt with Georgia State (2-0). After defeating the Panthers 69-63 last season, KSU is eyeing consecutive wins for the first time in the series.

  • KSU is coming off a 62-45 victory over Life University Friday.
  • KSU turned 23 Running Eagle turnovers into 24 points, and out-rebounded the competition 40-33.
  • The Owls outscored the visitors from Marietta 19-6 in the second frame, and held Life without a field goal over the final 2:34. Life was only 2-14 in the quarter, while KSU converted eight of its 13 attempts.
  • Kyndall Golden almost pulled off a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds. She was a force defensively with a four blocked shots. Her points, rebounds, and blocks were all career bests.
  • In last season's matchup with the Panthers, KSU defeated Georgia State 69-63 for the third time in program history and earned the second win over the Panthers at the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Jah'Che Whitfield led the team in scoring for the second straight game with18 points and Lyndsey Whilby finished with 16 points and four three-pointers.
     

Saw Storylines

  • The Black and Gold protected the Nest in 2022-23, accruing a 9-4 record inside the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Last season, KSU WBB doubled its conference win total from five to 10, finishing with a 10-8 record in ASUN play.
  • In her first two seasons at the helm, Coach Blue has secured 24 wins, the second-most by a KSU coach in DI program history in their first two seasons.
  • Of the 14 Owls on the roster, seven are new to the Nest as freshmen or transfers, but for the first time as head coach, Blue's roster is 100% comprised of players brought in by one of her staffs.

  • 2022-23 was a season of success for the Owls, with Coach Blue leading KSU to its most conference wins (10) since 2008-09 and most single-season victories (15) since 2014-15.
  • KSU is set to host 14 home games this season, including exciting contests against Florida Atlantic, Chattanooga and Georgetown.
  • The 2023-24 season marks the final year of competition for Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
