KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's golf team is in first place after the first two rounds of the Pinetree Intercollegiate which was played at Pinetree Country Club on Monday.
The Owls carded rounds of 4-under par 284 and 10-under par 278 for a 14-under par total of 562. KSU leads the 10-team field by seven shots over second-place Augusta.
Shaun Cook is pacing the Owls through 36 holes. The sophomore posted rounds of 70-65 for a 9-under par total of 135. He leads the 58-player field by five shots and his 36-hole total score ranks tied for third in school history. His round of 7-under 65 is tied for third lowest in school history on par 72 course. His 65 is also tied for the second-lowest round in Pinetree Intercollegiate history. He has made 12 birdies and 19 pars during his first 36 holes.
Freshman
Hunter Gillard recorded a pair of 2-under par rounds of 70 and is tied for second at 4-under par 140.
Senior
Hugo Lari is tied for 10
th after rounds of 74-71 for a 1-over par total of 145.
Kyle Bachkosky (75-72) and
Reed Sweigart (70-77) are tied for 17
th at 3-over par 147.
Joshua Todd shot a 2-under par 142 and is tied for fifth to lead a group of three Owls who are competing as individuals.
Josh Ledford is tied for 22nd at 4-over par 148 while
Evan Buddenhagen is tied for 50th at 17-over par 161.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes. All the action can be followed live online at
