KENNESAW, Ga. - The Owls are set to travel this week to compete in the ITA Southeastern Regionals. The team is coming off a successful week after playing in the Georgia Southern Fall Shootout tournament this past weekend. Matches are set to begin Friday, Oct. 20, with the qualifying matches taking place Thursday, Oct. 19.

Sofia Madrid will be competing for Kennesaw State this weekend, along with Freshman
Ema Baraniakova.Dean and Madrid will be in the Main Draw for Singles. Dean and Baraniakova will be in the main draw for doubles. UNger and Madrid will bgin play in the doubles qualifier round.Â

Ins and Outs of Fall Season
Fall tennis consists of individual tournaments, while the team matches occur only in the spring. The Owls will compete in several individual tournaments this fall, including the ITA Southeast Regionals, Charleston Southern Hidden Dual, and Stetson Hidden Dual.

Tournament Format
Matches will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and will consist of doubles and singles play throughout the tournament. Players qualify into different groups allowing them to advance within their bracket.

Thursday, October 19 – Qualifying Draw, 2 rounds of doubles and 2 rounds of singles
Friday, October 20 – Main Draw, Doubles round of 32, Singles rounds of 64 and 32
Saturday, October 21 – Main Draw, Doubles round of 16 and quarterfinals, Singles round of 16; Consolation
Sunday, October 22 – Main Draw, Singles quarterfinals and semifinals, Doubles semifinals; Consolation
Monday, October 23 – Main Draw, Singles and Doubles Finals; Consolation Singles and Doubles
