2023 Schedule | Extra Elite Top 100
KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State third baseman Taylor Cates was placed at No. 87 on the Extra Elite 100 college softball players of 2023, Extra Inning Softball released Monday.
Cates started in all 51 games for the Owls last season and set KSU DI single-season records in home runs (19) and total bases (133). She was named to the ASUN All-Conference first team and All-Academic team last season.
She led the team in batting average (.389), OPS (1.280), runs (40), hits (61), doubles (15), home runs (19), RBI (48), total bases (133), slugging percentage (.847), and on-base percentage (.433). Her 11 stolen bases tied Faith Alexander for the team lead.
Kennesaw State opens the 2023 campaign at the Stinger Classic in Montgomery, Ala. against UT Martin and Tennessee Tech on Feb. 10 through Feb. 12.
The Owls return to Bailey Park on Wednesday, Feb. 15 for a showdown with the Mercer Bears. Admission is free to all home contests in 2023.
