KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State baseball's
Jackson Chirello and
Tanner Franklin were named to the 2023 Perfect Game Top 100 Freshmen list, the outlet announced. This marked the second consecutive year that Owl baseball was featured on the Perfect Game freshmen preseason watch list, as both
Harry Cain and
Miller Riggins were selected in 2022.
Chirello, a native of Woodstock, Ga., played at Etowah High School where he led the Eagles to an appearance in the GHSA AAAAAAA State Championship during his senior campaign. Owl fans will see the 6'5 utility player at multiple positions this spring and can look forward to the power his bat brings from the left side of the plate.
Franklin, who comes to KSU from Jefferson City, Tenn., is a right-handed pitcher that features a power fastball. The 6'5 righty was up to 97 mph this fall which caught the attention of multiple college baseball outlets.
