WOLCOTT, Co. – Cameron Neilson leads the Kennesaw State women's golf team after the second round of the 2022 Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
The Owls stand tied for third after posting a 4-over 292 at the Red Sky Golf Club. The Black and Gold have a 5-over 581 overall scorecard, four strokes ahead of Washington State and 14 in front of ASUN foe Central Arkansas
LEADING THE TEAM:
Neilson finished 2-under 70 in the second round of the tournament to finish tied for seventh overall.
Neilson is tied for fourth in par-4 scoring (3.90 average) in the tournament.
SCORECARD:
Bella Kil posted an even-par round and will enter day three tied for 11th in the field. Kil is tied for the most eagles (2) after finishing with a 143 overall scorecard Tuesday. She is tied for third in par-3 scoring (2.75 average).
Neilson and Kil are tied for the team lead with a 4.63 par-5 scoring average.
Lara Jecnik and Meva Schmit are tied for 29th after each posted 3-over 75 scorecards in round two.
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman finished round two with a 155 overall score through the first two rounds.
GOLF CART NOTES:
>> Neilson and Schmit lead the team with 25 birdies.
>> Neilson and Campbell-Nyman pace the team with seven birdies in the event.
>> The Owls have the second most pars (112) in the tournament.
>> KSU stands tied for second in total eagles with three.
>> The team is fourth in par-3 (3.08), par-4 (4.15) and par-5 (4.95) scoring averages.
NEXT TEE TIME:
The Owls tee off Wednesday, Sept. 28 for the final round at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
