2023 Schedule | ASUN Release
KENNESAW, Ga. – The ASUN Conference revealed its eight-week 2023 softball schedule Monday afternoon with the Owls set to host four series at Bailey Park.
The Black and Gold open conference play on the road against the Austin Peay Governors March 24-26. The two teams last met in 2017, with KSU holding a 5-2 record in the series.
KSU opens the home conference schedule against Eastern Kentucky on the weekend of March 18 in the first meeting between the squads since 2008. KSU is 2-1 all-time against the Colonels and this series marks the first contest as conference foes.
The road trip continues the weekend of April 1 against the 2022 ASUN Conference Champion Liberty Flames. The Owls look to secure their first win over the Flames since April 2021.
Kennesaw State is one of only three ASUN teams to play back-to-back road series in 2023.
KSU returns home to square off with the North Alabama Lions on Easter weekend set for the weekend of April 8. The Owls boast an 18-3 record against UNA all-time.
The Owls head to Jacksonville for a three-game tilt against the Dolphins on the weekend of April 15. KSU swept the 2022 season series and has won each of the last 10 games against the Florida foe.
Lipscomb heads to Bailey Park for a late-season showdown set for the weekend of April 22.
Melanie Bennett helped the Owls take two of three from the Bisons a season ago, improving KSU's record to 24-21 in the series.
The final conference road series of the 2023 season is scheduled for the weekend of April 29 for a three-game series against the Bellarmine Knights. The Owls are 5-0 all-time against the Knights, including a three-game sweep at Louisville in 2021.
FGCU travels to Kennesaw to complete the 2023 ASUN schedule on the weekend of May 6. KSU won the 2021 season series against the Eagles and has won four of the last five in the series.
Official dates and times for the 2023 ASUN Conference schedule, as well as KSU's non-conference slate are to be determined.
Head coach
Tripp MacKay enters his fifth season leading KSU this winter. The Owls finished the 2022 campaign winning nine of its last 10 in the regular season en-route to a 12-12 conference record and a fourth-place finish in the ASUN tournament.
