ASUN Reveals 2023 Baseball Conference Schedule

7/20/2022 3:00:00 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. –  The ASUN Conference announced its slate for the upcoming 2023 baseball season on Wednesday afternoon and the Owls will host five home series inside Stillwell Stadium. The team, led by second-year head coach Ryan Coe, aims to defend its 2022 conference championship title that saw KSU break a program record with 19 league victories.

Kennesaw State finished the 2022 regular season with a 36-28 record, including a 19-11 mark in conference play. The team was crowned ASUN Baseball Tournament Champions and earned a berth in the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2014.

The Owls look to continue that momentum into the 2023 season as the team plays 30 ASUN games over a 10-week span.

Kennesaw State begins conference play with a three-game road trip to Stetson that begins Mar. 17. Last season, Kennesaw State defeated Stetson five out of six times and outscored the Hatters, 67-22.

On the ensuing weekend, KSU returns to Stillwell Stadium for its home conference opener (Mar. 24) in a series with Eastern Kentucky. The matchup will be the first in school history for the Owls and Colonels.

Kennesaw State hits the road again on Mar. 31 for a three-game set at Jacksonville State. The two rivals have not met since the 2021 season with the Owls holding a 19-16 lead in the all-time series.

The defending Champs return home for two straight series against conference newcomer Austin Peay (Apr. 6) and 2022 ASUN regular-season co-champion Liberty (Apr. 14). The Owls have never matched up against the Governors, while the series with the Flames will be a rematch of the 2022 ASUN Tournament Championship game.

Following the homestand, Kennesaw State visits another conference newcomer, Queens University, for a three-game series starting on Apr. 21. The 2023 season will be Queens' first season competing at the Division I level.

The Owls return home on Apr. 28 for a weekend matchup with Jacksonville. KSU defeated the Dolphins five times in 2022 and held the JU offense to only 3.8 runs per game.

Kennesaw State concludes ASUN play with two of the final three series on the road. The team travels to Lipscomb (May 5) and Florida Gulf Coast (May 18). In between, KSU will host North Alabama in the final regular-season home series starting on May 12.
