KENNESAW, Ga. - 11 members of the Kennesaw State men's and women's tennis teams collected Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic honors, the organization announced Monday. In addition, the women earned their 11th consecutive team honor.
Two members of the men's squad were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes with nine ITA Scholar-Athletes coming from the women.
The two men recognized for their achievements in the classroom were
Daniel Botti and
Jackson Lee. The women's student-athletes were
Melody Cantrell, Juliana Castellanos, Taylor Dean, Amulika Gottiparthy,
Soomin Kim, Ji Youn Lee, Sofia Pinedo, Valentina Taddia and Sophia Unger.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and been listed on the institutional eligibility form.
