EUGENE, Ore. – Jasmine Akins and Sarah Hendrick represented Kennesaw State at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday evening.

Akins landed a mark of 5.70m (18'8.5") to finish 22nd in the long jump. The Savannah, Ga. native rebounded and recorded the mark on her final jump of the evening.

"Obviously not the way we wanted to end the season, but Jasmine got the experience of jumping at the outdoor national championship which will be beneficial the rest of her career, " associate head coach Jaymes Talkington said. "She had a great season and proved that she can jump with some of the best girls in the country. I'm proud of what she accomplished this year and am excited to see what we can do next year."

Hendrick recorded a time of 2:02.34 to place fourth in the semifinals of the 800m. That time advances her to Saturday evening's final.

"I am happy for Sarah to keep her season moving forward," assistant coach Adam Bray said. "Racing for another chance to win an NCAA title on Saturday is fantastic for her. Excited to watch her represent KSU on the biggest stage in the NCAA."

Hendrick will race in the 800m final on Saturday, June 11 at 6:44 p.m. EST. The race can be viewed on ESPN.
