Josh Hatcher Named All-American by Collegiate Baseball

6/2/2022 10:41:00 AM

TUCSON, Ariz. Josh Hatcher's record-breaking season continues to collect postseason accolades as the KSU centerfielder was named a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, announced Thursday. The award marks the first time since the 2020 season in which an Owl received All-American honors.

Heading into the NCAA Hattiesburg Regional, Hatcher holds a .386 batting average with three triples, 13 home runs and a program record 25 doubles. This season, he became the first player in KSU history to hit for the cycle and two games later, became only the third player in NCAA history to hit for two cycles in the same season.

Last week in Fort Myers, Fla., the centerfielder was named to the first-team All-ASUN Conference and collected the ASUN Tournament Most Valuable Player award. Hatched helped lead the Owls to their first ASUN Tournament Championship and NCAA Regional appearance since 2014.

Hatcher and the Owls are back in action tomorrow, June 3, for game one of the Hattiesburg Regional against the LSU Tigers. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. (ET) inside Pete Taylor Park and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.
