KENNESAW, Ga. – Katie Meyer and
Sarah Hendrick of the Kennesaw State women's track and field team were named to the ASUN Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic team, the conference announced on Friday.

Cale McDaniel said. "They continue to set an example of excellence that we hope all will strive for."
Meyer was named ASUN Women's Outdoor Track and Field Scholar Athlete of the Year. She joins Christie Leverette and
Lindsay Billings as the third Owl to collect the Women's Outdoor Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. Meyer carries a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in civil engineering. She finished 14th in a career-best time of 4:39.43 in the 1500m at the Yellow Jacket Invitational. She secured seventh in the 5k at the Tennessee Relays (16:57.36) and the Georgia Tech Invitational (17:07.39). The Roswell, Ga. native ran a 10k time of 34:44.76 at Penn Relays. That time ranks second in the ASUN this season. She concluded her KSU career winning the 10K (35:27.62) and finishing fourth in the 5K (17:19.33) at the ASUN Championships. This marks the third time that Meyer has been selected to the ASUN Outdoor All-Academic team.
Hendrick holds a 3.89 GPA as a nursing major. The senior has lost only two races during the outdoor season. She won the 400m (55.70 seconds) and 1500m (4;18.95) at the Don McGarey Invitational. She was victorious the 800m (2:04.83) in the heavy rain at Tennessee Relays. She won the 800m (2:00.98) and the 4x400m (3:42.66) at the Kennesaw State Invitational. That time in the 800m ranks first in the NCAA East Region, NCAA and ASUN this season. The Kennesaw native was victorious in the 1500m (4:15.91) and the 800m (2:03.67) at the Georgia Tech Invitational. That 1500m time set the school record, ranks first in the ASUN and No. 23 in the NCAA East Region. She picked up a win in the 1500m at the Penn Relays. At the ASUN Outdoor Championships, she won the gold medal in the 800m (2:06.03) and the 1500m (4:24.62) and was second in the 4x400m relay. She ran a time of 2:04.20 to advance to Saturday's quarterfinals in the 800m at the NCAA East Preliminary Championship. She was named Most Valuable Performer of the and Most Outstanding Track Performer of the ASUN Championship. On Thursday, Hendrick was named to the voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Women's At-Large Team. This marks the second time that Hendrick has been selected to the ASUN Outdoor All-Academic team.
