Hendrick Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State senior Sarah Hendrick was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District IV Women's At-Large Team, the organization of sports information directors (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday. Hendrick is now placed on the ballot for Academic All-American consideration thanks to her selection.
 
Student-athletes must be in at least their second year of competition, hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must participate in 50 percent of the competitions that an institution schedules in either cross country, indoor track and field, or outdoor track and field to be eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-District teams. District IV is made up of schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
 
Hendrick began the 2021-22 season on the cross country course, where she posted career-best performances in the 5k and 6k and was the Owls' top finisher in three races. She placed 10th at the ASUN Championship earning ASUN Second Team All-Conference honors.
 
As the winter came so did the indoor track season. Hendrick established new school records in the 400m, 600m, and mile events as well as on the distance medley relay. She won the 400m and the mile and finished second in the distance medley relay at the ASUN Championships. The Kennesaw native earned First Team All-American honors in the 800m after an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
 
During the outdoor season, Hendrick is currently undefeated in the 800m. She established new school records in the 800m and 1500m this season, while her time of 2:00.98 in the 800m is tied for first in the NCAA this season. Hendricks won the 1500m at the prestigious Penn Relays, and collected gold medals in the 800m and 1500m and a silver medal in the 4x400m relay at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. She was named ASUN Most Valuable Performer and Most Outstanding Track Performer of the ASUN Championships.    
 
Hendrick is a strong student in the classroom as well. She holds a 3.89 GPA while majoring in nursing. She has been named to ASUN Cross Country and ASUN Indoor All-Academic teams this year.
 
Hendrick and 12 of her teammates are in competition at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships in Bloomington, Ind.
