Outdoor Meet 10: Kennesaw State at 2022 NCAA East Preliminary Championships

The Kennesaw State track and field teams will have 13 athletes competing in ten events at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Indiana University will play host to the NCAA Championships East Preliminary Rounds from May 25-28 in Bloomington. The men will compete on May 25 and May 27 while the women compete on May 26 and May 28. Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn berths into the NCAA Championships. The best 24 relay times also advanced to NCAA Championships. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West preliminaries will advance for the semifinals/finals of the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 8-11. There is no decathlon or heptathlon competition at this part of the NCAA Championships. The top 24 decathlon and heptathlon marks in the nation earn an automatic berth to the finals of the NCAA Championships.

Sarah Hendrick is undefeated this outdoor season in the 800m. She is the highest ranked female athlete in the ASUN Conference entering action this weekend at No. 2 in the 800m.
» Hendrick will look to become the only Owl to reach the finals of the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships in the same season twice.
» Hendrick was named ASUN Women's Most Outstanding Track Performer after winning both the 800m and 1500m at the conference championships on May 15.

Anthony Harrison enters the weekend as the co-highest seeded Owl on the men's side at No. 10 in the discus. There is a strong possibility that both Lawrence and Liberty's Kevin Nedrick could represent the ASUN in Eugene.

Courtney Lawrence heads into the weekend as the No. 10 seed in the shot put. Should Lawrence advance to Oregon he would be the second Owl to represent KSU in the shot put final joining Josh McNair in 2011.
» The ASUN has never had an athlete reach the finals in the discus and 4x100m relay on the men's side.
