JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams opened action at the ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. 

Men's Team Scoring (4 of 21 events scored)
Liberty - 62 points
KSU - 36 points
Central Arkansas - 28 points
EKU – 18 points
North Florida – 10 points

 Women's Team Scoring (3 of 21 events scored)
Liberty - 52 points
KSU – 37 points

 Decathlon (Through five events)

• Quann Shears is in third place with 3281 points.
• Shears won the high jump clearing 1.86m (6'1.25").

 
Heptathlon (Through Four Events)

• Kywana Donahoo is in third place with 3054 points.
• Donahoo won the 100m hurdles, high jump and the 200m on Thursday.
• Ansley Floyd-Jackson is in eighth place with 2646 points.
• Floyd Jackson took fifth in the 200m in a time of 26.15 seconds.

 

Medal Winners

• Zachary Peterson took home third in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 52.78m (173'2").
• Kali Terza landed a toss of 56.53m (185'5") to secure the silver medal in the women's hammer throw.
• Jada Smith grabbed the bronze medal with a clearance of 3.60m (11'9.75") in the women's pole vault.
• Sultan Simms secured second in the high jump with a clearance of 2.09m (6'10'.25"). Juan Cavazos took third place after getting over the bar at 2.04m (6'8.25") in the men's high jump.
• Katie Meyer won the women's 10k for the second consecutive year with a time of 35:27.62. That time ranks sixth in ASUN championship history.

 
 
 
Running Event Qualifiers for Saturday's Finals

• Isaiah Ellis (55.12 seconds), Ian Jackson (54.57 seconds) and Cameron Smith (55.58 seconds) advanced to the final in the men's 400m hurdles.
• Imani Christian (1:01.42), Corbin Mclean (1:02.81) and Jayla Mobley (1:03.27) will represent KSU in the women's 400m hurdle final.
• Aaron Goodwin (21.24 seconds), Malik Hussie (21.26 seconds) and Tyriq Hussie (21.37) moved on to Saturday's men's 200m final.

The Owls will compete on the day two of the ASUN Outdoor Championships beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13.
