KENNESAW, Ga. – Tyler Simon was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Baseball First Team, announced by the association on Thursday. The shortstop holds a 4.0 GPA in the healthcare management and informatics graduate degree program and received a bachelor's degree in biology with a 3.51 GPA.
Simon is one-of-three Owls that have started all 49 games this season. He holds a .311 batting average and leads the team in triples with four. Simon has played in 220 career games and is 11 away from breaking the Kennesaw State record. Earlier in the season, he was named to the midseason watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award which recognizes the nation's top shortstop.
Simon and the Owls are back in action tomorrow for game one-of-three with ASUN Conference foe, Stetson. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. inside Stillwell Stadium and will be broadcasted live on YouTube. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking
