Penn Relays Results
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sarah Hendrick,
Nyah Hernandez and
Katie Meyer competed for the Owls at the Penn Relays on Thursday evening.
"Winning Penn Relays is a big deal and a well- deserved honor for
Sarah Hendrick," assistant coach
Adam Bray said. She is the second Owl to win an event at Penn Relays joining Marjo Venalainen. This is another great chapter in her season. Also, I must congratulate
Katie Meyer on her big personal-best time as well as
Nyah Hernandez on her gutsy race. Nyah took the lead late to push the pace and I can't be prouder of the way these three continue to represent Kennesaw State on a high level. This experience will pay huge dividends for these ladies down the road."
Hendrick led off the night using a late kick to win the 1500m with a time of 4:16.68.
Hernandez followed running a time of 16:45.44 to finish 24
th in the 5K. It was the second-best outdoor 5k of her career.
Meyer closed the night finishing 10
th in the 10K with a personal-best time of 34:44.76. That time ranks third in program history.
The rest of the Owls will compete at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial on April 29-30.
