KENNESAW, Ga. –
Alizee Vidal clinched a spot in the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals, announced on GOLF channel Wednesday afternoon.
The junior is set to play in the Tallahassee Regional at Seminole Legacy Golf Club on Monday, May 9 through Wednesday, May 11.
"I'm really proud of Alizee's accomplishment to continue her season at NCAA Regionals," head coach
Erin Thorne said. "We've got a few days to work with her to give her the best chance to qualify for nationals."
"I know the rest of the team will be cheering her on from afar as she competes," Thorne added.
She earned an automatic bid to the event after winning the 2022 ASUN Conference individual championship in Valdosta last week, carding a 5-under 211 and finishing three strokes ahead of second place.
Vidal is the second Owl in program history to play in the NCAA regionals as an individual.
The Kennesaw State women's golf team won two tournaments during the 2021-2022 season at the Rio Verde Invitational and the Pinetree Women's Collegiate. Thorne became the first head coach in program history to win multiple tournaments in their first season.
KSU finished the regular season with a second-place finish at the 2022 ASUN Championship.
