FORT MYERS, Fla. – Kennesaw State women's tennis fell to North Florida 4-0 in the first round of the ASUN Championships at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
"I couldn't be more proud of the way we competed today," Director of Tennis
Matt Emery said. "UNF has a lot more experience in this tournament, and that was the small difference today."
How it Happened
The Ospreys jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the doubles point.
Kat Muzik/
Valentina Taddia defeated Isabel Oliveira/Anslee Long 6-3, but the doubles point would go to UNF after winning the remaining two doubles matches.
In singles play, North Florida would win three straight matches to secure the overall win over the Owls.
"I want to thank our seniors, Kat, Val, Soomin, Juli, and Melody, for everything they have done for this program," Emery said. "They have helped transform this program from a losing culture to a winning culture, and they did it through nothing more than sheer grit, determination, and hard work. I couldn't be more grateful than I am of everything they have given this program."
