KENNESAW, Ga. – Kat Muzik of Kennesaw State women's tennis was named first team All-ASUN, the conference announced Thursday.

The Mableton, Ga native finished the season with a singles record of 12-5 which ranked 4th in No. 1 Singles action this year among ASUN Conference players. Muzik also ranked 3rd in conference matches at the No. 1 singles spot posting a record of 5-2. This recorded included wins over Stetson, Jacksonville State, Lipscomb, North Alabama, and Central Arkansas.

"Kat obviously had a great season the court, but she brought so much more than that," said KSU Director of Tennis Matt Emery. "Her fearless competitiveness has made everyone around her better, and there is no question she has helped drastically improve this program."
Muzik was the winner of seven of her first ten matches on the year and helped guide KSU to its best start in program history at 9-0.

The Graduate was a key factor in the Owls' success throughout the season. This season, KSU got up to 69th in the Division I Women's ITA Collegiate Tennis computer rankings. The ranking marked the first time the Owls have been inside the top 75 published poll in school history.

The KSU women's tennis squad also recorded a program-tying 10 road victories this season.

On April 12, Muzik was named ASUN Conference Player of the Week after posting a 4-0 record at the No. 1 slot in singles and doubles.

Muzik is the fourth Owl to receive first team All-ASUN honors. She joins teammate Taylor Dean as the only two Owls to earn the honor since 2015.

Kennesaw State women's tennis has entered postseason play and is set to take on defending ASUN champion, North Florida, in the first round of the ASUN Women's Tennis Championships this Friday. Match time is set for 9:00 a.m. at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
